K-Tec Reveals 1232 ADT Scraper With 32-Yard Capacity for Articulated Haulers

#News Center ·2026-10-18 00:00:00

K-Tec has introduced the 1232 ADT, a 32-cubic-yard scraper built to be towed behind a 30- to 45-ton articulated dump truck chassis. The model is an evolution of the company's existing 1228 ADT, adding 4 cubic yards of capacity together with a package of durability and serviceability upgrades.

Revealed at ConExpo 2026, the 1232 is scheduled to reach the market in 2027. The "12" in the model name refers to its 12-foot cutting width.

A front gate extension and taller sidewalls raise payload while keeping the machine matched to one of the most widely used ADT size classes, K-Tec says. It reaches full heaped capacity with a single hauler requiring at least 350 horsepower, and can run at haul road speeds of up to 35 mph.

The scraper uses Hardox and Weldox steel to cut weight and extend service life, and its ADT gooseneck transfers 30% of the load onto the truck with the remainder carried by the scraper axle.

On the maintenance side, K-Tec replaced ejector rollers with slider blocks for longer wear life and simpler service, and the 1232 shares common wear parts with the company's larger scrapers. A bolt-together modular design simplifies repairs after damage and helps fleets standardise parts.

A tapered drop-down center blade comes standard — described by the company as ideal for most conditions — with six further blade options available for different tasks and terrain. All K-Tec scrapers now ship with built-in telematics to feed machine data into fleet analysis.

"The extra capacity over the 1228 and the new features will allow you to move more dirt and be competitive in your market," said Shaun Eidse, K-Tec director of product.

By way of market context, 1,898 new financed articulated dump trucks were sold in the US last year, roughly 250 fewer than the year before, according to Fusable EDA equipment finance data.

Why it matters to buyers: scrapers that pair directly with 30- to 45-ton ADTs let contractors expand earthmoving capacity without adding a second machine class — worth factoring into fleet planning ahead of the 2027 launch.
