Manitou Launches MRT 4080: A Rotating Telehandler That Reaches 131 Feet

Manitou Group has rolled out the largest "High Lift" rotating telehandler in its MRT Vision+ Series with the new MRT 4080, a three-in-one machine that can work as a telehandler, a mobile crane or an aerial work platform.
The MRT 4080 offers a maximum lifting height of 131 feet 3 inches, a lifting capacity of up to 17,630 pounds and maximum outreach of 88 feet — figures aimed at complex high-reach lifting tasks.
Key features reported by the manufacturer:
- Manitou Telescopic Boom Management (MTBM) with five independently and automatically controlled boom sections for high-reach precision
- 360-degree turret rotation with all-around cab visibility, so operators can finish tasks without repositioning the machine
- Adjustable stabilisation and high ground clearance for quick, safe setup on restricted or all-terrain sites
- Standard Stop and Start function that shuts down the engine and hour meter when idling without hydraulic activity, restarting on joystick or throttle input
- 211-horsepower Yanmar diesel engine meeting Tier 4 Final emissions standards
- Optional attachments including extension jib with winch, floating fork carriage, variable speed winch and a slewing extendible platform with winch
Manitou equipped the machine with new features focused on comfort, performance, energy savings, safety and efficiency, rounding out the top of its Vision+ high-lift range.
Why it matters to buyers: a single machine covering telehandler, crane and platform duty can reduce fleet count and mobilisation cost on high-reach jobs — the trade-off being higher specification and purchase price versus standard telehandlers.
